This has probably been the strangest, most dizzying week of my life.<\/p>\n
The diagnosis has now been made: it's a lymphoma.
\nAs one doctor put it, \u00abit's not the nicest of lymphomas\u00bb. The treatment will therefore be more consistent, but the protocol remains as planned.<\/p>\n
Chemotherapy has begun, with the first session on Wednesday March 25.
\nAs announced, it is aggressive and demanding. For the time being, the doctors are planning one session every three weeks, on an outpatient basis.<\/p>\n
A few days later, I was still tired and my physical strength was very limited. I was hospitalized again.
\nWhat was described to me is proving to be correct. Now we have to deal with the side effects, including nausea and fatigue.<\/p>\n
I have no pain. After three months, the fever has disappeared, which is a real relief, even if it comes with a very low energy level.<\/p>\n
My medical indicators are in order for the moment. However, I'm immunocompromised, which means I have to take a lot of medication and take strict precautions to avoid infection.<\/p>\n
The team at the Daniel Hollard Institute is very attentive. Days start early, as early as 6 a.m., with the nurses rushing into the room and the announcement of a \u00abblood test\u00bb that interrupts sleep with a jolt, a rude awakening.<\/p>\n
My life is undergoing a profound change, impossible to anticipate. My usual landmarks are gradually disappearing, and my relationship with time is becoming blurred.<\/p>\n
This change means relinquishing a significant amount of control to the doctors and the treatment. It's a new situation for me, and it's shaking up my habits.<\/p>\n
In this phase, I find real support in the presence of my close family, friends and professionals. Their presence and their messages are an essential anchor.<\/p>\n
I feel exhausted and fragile, but I'm still fighting. It's a compulsory stage, there's no alternative: you have to get through it.<\/p>\n
